One Sentence Summary:
how to allocate the transmit power and the number of subcarriers
Abstract:
-The upcoming fifth-generation (5G) cellular networks and beyond are expected to support various new application scenarios with diverse quality-of-service requirements. In this work, we study how to allocate the transmit power and the number of subcarriers in a 5G New Radio system with delay-tolerant, delay-sensitive, and ultra-reliable and lowlatency services. We first formulate an optimization framework with different kinds of services, and then propose a lowcomplexity algorithm to maximize the number of users that can be supported in this system. In addition, we study the optimality conditions of the proposed algorithm. The theoretical analysis shows that the conditions hold for delay-tolerant and delaysensitive services. For ultra-reliable and low-latency services, we prove that the conditions hold when the number of antennas at the base station is large. Numerical results validate that the conditions hold even when the number of antennas is small. Simulation results show that compared with an existing method, our algorithm can support more users with a lower computing complexity.
